Mansfield State Historic Site, in conjunction with the American Battlefield Trust, will host “Park Day,” an annual volunteer work effort Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers wishing to donate time and a little labor can help park staff with outdoor tasks such as light trail maintenance and park grounds cleanup. Work gloves, outdoor clothing/ footwear, and insect repellent is recommended. Pre-registration is required; contact the park at 318-872-1474 before April 19 to pre-register.

The American Battlefield Trust is a national nonprofit land preservation organization devoted to the protection of America’s hallowed battlegrounds. It saves the battlefields of the Civil War, Revolutionary War and War of 1812, and educates the public about their importance in forging the nation we are today.
