The Zwolle Tamale Fiesta is a celebration of the area's Spanish and Indian heritage. The fiesta, held on the second weekend of October, and is celebrating 50 years, it continues to bring in large crowds to our parish every year. The event is held at the Zwolle Festival Grounds with festivities starting Thursday with a Kick-off Supper. The fiesta is filled with activities including a parade, tamale making demonstrations, arts and crafts, street dance, treasure hunt, costume contest, mud bog, music, and LOTS OF TAMALES! Also featured are pageants, arm wrestling contests for all ages, a trail ride, rides and food booths, a very popular Mud Bog Race for trucks, and over 20,000 dozen tamales for sale.
